“How much money do you really lose from a bad tool?”
Well let’s say you bought a tool and it works just fine for 6 months… then stops working.
Now let’s say you paid $200 for this tool… a very conservative estimate for power-tools... but let’s make the price between hand-tool prices and power-tool prices. So $200 sounds about right.
Replacing this tool would cost you AT LEAST $200. With shipping and tax... the total might come more to $240.
Now let’s add to that the “time cost” of researching.
If you make $15 per hour at your job, and you spend three hours (another conservative estimate) reading reviews... that adds $45 to the replacement cost.
That brings the total to $285 to replace the tool
